Dhanteras is the first day of the festival of Diwali. It's also called "Dhana trayodashi". "Dhan" means weath and "Teras/ Trayodhashi" refers to the thirteenth day of lunar month. This year 2024 it falls on Tuesday, October 29. Dhanvantari, who is also worshipped on Dhanteras, is the god of Ayurveda who brought and shared the wisdom of Ayurveda for the betterment of mankind and to bring relief from the suffering of disease with Ayurvedic remedies.
